Minister to Youth and Children
Chrissy comes to us as a native from Lexington, NC (aka barbecue country). She graduated from Appalachian State with a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies in 2014. She is now in her last semester of her master’s degrees in Divinity and Mental Health Counseling at Gardner-Webb University. She and her husband Shelton have been at Pleasant Hill for almost one year. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, watching Netflix, baking scones, and spending time with her two favorite men: her husband and her goofy black lab, Cornbread (yes, that is his real name!). Her passion is to help others in any way they need – through ministry, counseling, or simply with friendship; her prayer for our world is for people to feel valued and that they belong in this messy but beautiful thing we call life.
Building and Grounds
Joel has been a member of Pleasant Hill for almost 30 years and has been Minister of Building and Grounds for about as long. He considers his work at Pleasant Hill to be a ministry to the continued mission of the church.
Joel retired from Michelin Tire in 2015 and has been doing various volunteer projects since then. He is married to Kay, has a daughter Amy, and two grandsons – Max and Gus.
